Something is wrong with Superman. When he sees Brainiac, one of his worst enemies, speaking secretly with Lois he's concerned that somehow the artificial being has some influence over his wife. But when he finds and confronts the villain, it leads to the deaths of those closest to him. After the battle, he awakens at his Fortress of Solitude in Ecuador to find blood on his hands... human blood.
