Boston Brand - Deadman - regards the House of Mystery as his home, but visions and a sense of personal unease niggle at him. When a room melts into the snowy landscape of Nanda Parbat, he feels a call, and needs to go there. The city shifted away following the Crime Syndicate's invasion, but Boston remembers how a man named Brahma Dass helped him find it the first time. Then he was at a circus, so that is where he goes now. And Brahma Dass is there! They magically transport to the city's ruins where Dass informs Deadman that he will travel the rest of the way on a dragon.
The rest of the Justice League Dark has followed Deadman to the circus, and there are attacked by spells given form, which Zatanna dispels. But who is trying to keep them from following their friend?
The dragon carries Deadman to the city where strange blue people greet him. They have been hidden within his consciousness, and now they can exact retribution against the archtects of paradise! They JLD reaches the city ruins and passes throug the rift Deadman used, with Swamp Thing concerned that all life on the mountain was terrified by something there with Boston. They reach through and find more destruction - they have found Nanda Parbat too late! Then, the gestalt of blue people, a creature of mind that calls itself Pantheon, attacks!
Boston Brand awakes in pain - he knows this means he is alive again, but he is also chained.
