Still reeling from the death in issue 46, the X-Men try to pick up the pieces and make contact with Jean-Paul Baubier, another new mutant. He rejects their offer, which may not have been the decision which offered him the most protection, particularly given the recent appearance of an individual known as "Mr. Sinister."
