Dr. Thomas Halloway finds his interest captured by a patient named Matt Hawk. The legendary Two Gun Kid is no longer a kid, and is ready to die of natural causes. He passes on personal items and important symbols to Halloway. Meanwhile, change is brewing in Europe.
