Outside the town of Limbo, North Carolina Swamp Thing encounters a trio of hunters. They return to town and tell their story to the townspeople. Also in town is Mr. Kay, who is searching for Swamp Thing. Meanwhile, Swamp Thing has met a small girl.
A criminal pastor has duped one of his followers into acting as a drug courier, thus enters the Phantom Stranger.
