Magneto felt so incapable of helping the New Mutants that he transferred them to the Massechutsets Academy and into the White Queeen's care. Although she is able to telepathically drag many of them out of their mental funks, Magneto eventually realizes that he has been manipulated by Empath, and does not take the news well.
