Carol goes home to see her family. Her father is dying of cancer, but it's not what she expected from the visit. She doesn't really know what to expect, in fact. She knows how this should affect her, but since Rogue stole her memories and the emotions left with them, she doesn't feel particularly attached to any part of her past life.
